Chaos Rising Part 1
Welcome to our first of four check-in and discussion posts for our Book of the Month.
This month’s book is Chaos Rising by Timothy Zahn
Part 1: Prologue - Chapter 6
Chaos Rising Part 1
1. This book is the first in chronological order for the character Thrawn. Do you have any prior knowledge about Thrawn before this book? If so, what material?
Star Wars likes to release things out of chronological order - which order do you prefer? Release order or in-universe chronological.
(For reference: here's an article about Thrawn specifically)
2. What do you think of the Chiss Ascendancy so far?
3. The Chiss call their force-sensitive navigators "sky-walkers". Obviously not a coincidence by the time this was written, but do you think it ties in specifically with Anakin or Luke?
4. What do you think of the political machinations between the different Chiss families and how well do you think General Ba'Kif manages to deal with them?
5. How are you liking it so far?
FYI - There's no need to answer all (or any) of the questions above - they're just talking points to get us started. Informal chatter is more than welcome! In-person book clubs often veer off topic, it's okay if we do as well. :)
All I ask is that you try to avoid spoilers for things past Part I of the book.
