This month’s book is Queen's Shadow by E.K. Johnston
A quarter of the book seems to be right around the end of chapter 6. Spoilers up to that point in the post and comments below.

1. Which handmaiden do you find the most interesting so far?
2. When they were leaving the lake and returning to the residence, did the comment about sand make you chuckle (or was I reading too much into that)?
“Longtime political followers will recall young Queen Amidala of Naboo. Four years ago she came to Coruscant and deposed the Chancellor to questionably hasten along aid for her home planet. Though no hard evidence of the Trade Federation’s misdeeds was ever produced, Amidala swayed the opinion of the Senate. Her speech, which was most likely written for her, given her age at the time, was stirring…and we can’t help wondering what she’ll stir up this time.
Now a senator for the Galactic Republic, Amidala has returned. A puppet queen no longer, surely, but the question remains: who is pulling her strings now? —TriNebulon News”
3. So much of the wardrobe and decoy handmaidens are tied up in ceremony and misdirecting perceptions (usually for safety purposes). Do you think the sort of media spin quoted above ties into how the story plans on handling perceptions?
4. Considering where the end of chapter 6 leaves off, any thoughts on who might’ve sent the sabotaged droid or why Senator Organa was there?
5. How are you liking the book so far? Any other thoughts? Predictions?
FYI - There's no need to answer all (or any) of the questions above - they're just talking points to get us started. Informal chatter is more than welcome! In-person book clubs often veer off topic, it's okay if we do as well. :)
All I ask is that you try to avoid spoilers for things past the first quarter of the book.
