Following her time in the clutches of Darth Vader, Doctor Aphra has barely escaped with her life. If he ever learns of her survival, he'll hunt her to the ends of the galaxy. I read the first couple volumes of this a few years back and while I think I get why a lot of people like Aphra as a character and her story…I found her annoying from the start and that never changed. I feel like I can appreciate what Gillen was Trying To Say About Star Wars™ here, but it's not what I like about Star Wars and I never quite got past that.

She's certainly not a character I'd like to buddy up with (she'd probably get me killed) but I find her being different than some of my favorites to be refreshing from a story point of view. ;)

There are so many stories in the "universe" of Star Wars that I think it's completely reasonable to be interested in some more than others.
