Do Dal's comments about how his family all seem to be in some sort of cult and just blindly following this 'Force' thing kind of make sense in a weird way?

I'm torn on this, because I'm not sure if we're meant to think that Dal was force-sensitive and deliberately and consciously suppressed it, or if he had no real talent for the force and that his family refused to see that and insisted on him going through Je'ddai training anyway...

Oh - that's an interesting take on it. I was actually assuming he wasn't force-sensitive and hadn't considered he was deliberately suppressing it. Either way though... isn't he allowed a choice re: the training? Shoving him into something he doesn't want or isn't equipped for can't end well, narratively speaking.
