This month will be a themed month. The idea is to read any Star Wars book you'd like that can be applied to the theme. The material can be anything - adult, YA, comics, even story-centric games.
1. Does your book contain original characters? Who are they and how well do you think they work in the book?
2. Which characters in your book are borrowed from elsewhere in canon? How well do you think the author portrays them?

It's early enough in his life that he still owns the Millennium Falcon, but is a long way from being a skilled pilot or even actually liking the Falcon. I've never read anything about Lando set this early in his life, so I'm not sure how consistently he's being written compared with other depictions of him, but the narrative style is a bit... odd. There are a lot of times where Lando isn't described by name, but instead as "the young gambler".
There are a couple of original characters who are getting a fair amount of page time around Lando - one is a local... priest? ... and the other is the astronavigation droid Lando came to the system to collect. I like the droid a lot - it was originally built by a non-human race who resembled multi-tentacled starfish, and who has quite an interesting personality. His interactions with Lando are possibly my favourite part of the book. Besides that, there are a few recurring background characters - a corrupt official, an unpleasant guard and an evil wizard - but they're not particularly deep so far as their intentions or characterisations go.
